The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund is proud to support the firefighters and cooperators in Riverside County. The firefighters of Riverside County provide fire and EMS services to one of the largest counties in California. It is the goal of the Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund to be able to support those men and women in their time of need. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund is a 501c3 (Non Profit) and is comprised of a board of Directors. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund not only supports the firefighters of Riverside County, it also supports other nonprofit originations that are affiliated with the fire service, such as cancer research and the burn institutes. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund has also aligned itself with CDF Firefighters Riverside Chapter Employees Association a 501c4, to help support the organizations that are directly represented by its membership, such as, diabetes and cancer research, RAGNAR and several sporting teams that are directly comprised of CALFIRE Local 2881 members. These teams in turn also raise funds for other nonprofit organizations represented by the fire community. In addition to direct assistance to the firefighting community and other non-profits, we have aligned ourselves with financial organizations to assist our members with their other financial needs.
An In-Kind Donation Fund is being established for PP/PM Anthony Reyes.
Anthony Reyes suffered burns while on duty and is being cared for at a Burn Center. To help offset the costs associated with his care, treatment and recovery, this fund has been established.

Riverside Brothers and Sisters,
On July 9th, 2019, at 1000 and 1300, the RCPFBF will be hosting Body Scan International at the Union Hall for a presentation on body scans. Everyone is welcome to attend; we will also set up a Go to Meeting link to broadcast it. In addition, We would highly recommend you take an hour and review CalPERS Publications 7 – State Safety Retirement and CalPERS Publication 30 – Special Power of Attorney. PUB 7, will educate you on your retirement and what benefits you & your family are entitled to. PUB 30, will educate you on the need for a Special Power of Attorney, this is a simple form everyone should have on file with CalPERS in order for someone to act on your behalf, if you become incapacitated. Without it your family may not be able to get benefits until you recover and or expire.

Hey Wendi! You know we are all behind you.
Subject: BC Hans Bolowich update 5/29/2019
All,
After two weeks of tests and procedures, I am saddened to report that Chief Bolowich has been diagnosed with brain cancer. The extent and agressivness of the specific cancer is still not known. He has just been discharged from RUHS and is returning home to spend the weekend with Carla and family and sleep in his own bed.
Next week Hans will be headed to UC Irvine Medical center in Orange, CA where he will continue tests, work with specialists and consider treatment options. This news has been difficult for both Hans and his family but they remain in good spirits and are now preparing for the long road ahead.
An In-Kind donation account has been established through the Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund for the Bolowich family. If you would like to assist the Bolowich family with the financial impact that they will endure in covering the costs of care, treatment and recovery; donate here:

Cards can be sent to Chief Hans Bolowich at 10724 Cherry Avenue, Cherry Valley, CA 92223
Lastly, Chief Gad Amith will be taking back over as the Bolowich family liaison effective 0800 hours tomorrow 5/30. Please direct any communications for Hans or Carla through him. Please continue to respect the family’s privacy and understand that if any needs arise, we will let you know.

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of Steve Casados. Steve worked in the Riverside Unit as a FFI, FFII and an FAE. Steve worked in Battalions 11,01,02,10 as a Firefighter II and Battalion 6 and 3 as a Fire Apparatus Engineer. Steve is survived by his wife Veronica and their three children.
