“Shop with a Firefighter “
The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund along with The Riverside County Fire Department and Target is sponsoring its Annual “Shop with a Firefighter” event, whereby firefighters and fire personnel will take underprivileged children shopping at two local Target stores for Christmas gifts and clothes. Firefighters who took children shopping last year will tell you that they left with a sense of fulfillment. Your heart will be warmed!
The “Shop with a Firefighter” program began as an initiative of the Benevolent Fund to expand its support into community-focused efforts across Riverside County. To bring this vision to life, the Benevolent Fund partnered with Riverside County Department of Public Social Services – Children’s Services Division (DPSS-CSD), creating an opportunity for collaboration in this annual tradition.
Each year, “Shop with a Firefighter” provides a memorable holiday shopping experience for approximately 100 local children. Every child is paired with a firefighter, and together they shop for clothing, school supplies, and toys, with an emphasis on essential items such as clothing and education materials.
This event offers firefighters a meaningful way to make a positive difference in the lives of young people, inspiring confidence and spreading holiday cheer.
