The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund is proud to support the firefighters and cooperators in Riverside County. The firefighters of Riverside County provide fire and EMS services to one of the largest counties in California. It is the goal of the Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund to be able to support those men and women in their time of need. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund is a 501c3 (Non-Profit) and is comprised of a board of Directors. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund not only supports the firefighters of Riverside County, but it also supports other nonprofit organizations that are affiliated with the fire service, such as cancer research and the burn institutes. The Riverside County Professional Firefighters Benevolent Fund has also aligned itself with Cal Fire District 6 to help support their Cal Fire Local 2881 membership.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Fire Apparatus Engineer Danny Cook—a devoted firefighter, trusted colleague, cherished friend, and loving family member. Danny proudly served the Cal Fire Riverside community on Q90, embodying courage, compassion, and selflessness in every call. He consistently put the safety of others first, often at great personal risk.
While actively engaged in a structure fire in the community of Nuevo, Danny suffered a sudden medical emergency. He immediately received lifesaving measures, but tragically, he passed away.
Beyond the uniform, Danny was known for his kind heart, strong leadership, sense of humor, and deep dedication to his family and fellow firefighters. He was a mentor to many and a source of strength and camaraderie within the fire service. Danny leaves behind his loving family, including three beautiful children, and a legacy of service and sacrifice that will never be forgotten.
A donation page has been created to support the Cook family during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions will help with funeral and memorial expenses, support for Danny’s children, and honoring his legacy of service.
Please consider donating if you are able,
